Ashlea Phenicie is a dynamic leader in the field of advocacy and nonprofit management, currently serving as the Chief Advocacy Officer at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan. With a proven track record in communications, advocacy, public policy, and strategic campaign management, Ashlea has dedicated her career to expanding access to health care and protecting reproductive freedom.
Ashlea's journey into advocacy began during her time at Central Michigan University, where she assumed the role of President of the Planned Parenthood Generation Action group. After graduating with a degree in Integrated Public Relations, Ashlea transitioned into the world of political consulting and advocacy. At a public affairs agency, she excelled in creating and executing digital and creative programs for progressive candidates, nonprofits and advocacy organizations. Her expertise in strategic communications and advocacy has been instrumental in driving positive change and furthering the mission of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan.
One of Ashlea's most notable accomplishments is her instrumental role in leading Planned Parenthood's efforts in the historic Reproductive Freedom for All ballot proposal. This landmark initiative successfully enshrined the right to reproductive freedom in the Michigan state constitution.
In her free time, Ashlea enjoys running, exploring Pure Michigan, visiting National Parks, and spending time with her family.
Ashlea is also proud to serve on the board of Girls on the Run of Mid Michigan, where she continues to support and empower young girls to become confident and resilient leaders.
