Tell Lame Duck Republicans: GO HOME

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan delivered pink slips to Lame Duck lawmakers in the Michigan Legislature today, dismissing them from office a few weeks ahead of schedule.

“We elected three strong women to lead our state, we passed three ballot proposals and we are sending a more balanced, truly bipartisan legislature to Lansing in January,” said Amanda West, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan Director of Government Affairs. “But with their last gasp of power, during their last days in office and their last moments of relevance, these lame duck lawmakers are going all in on undermining the will of each and every person who cast a ballot in November.”

Dozens of lawmakers received the notices today, all of them lame duck lawmakers who were actively working to undercut the power of Gov.-elect Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General-elect Dana Nessel, and Secretary of State-elect Jocelyn Benson, as well as make bad policy now because they know, come January, that a Governor Whitmer would not sign it.
