In January, the current administration announced a new federal civil rights division of “Conscience and Religious Freedom”– with equal stature to the traditional federal Department of Civil Rights that advocates for the rights of women, African Americans, Hispanics, Arab-Americans, and people who are otherwise subject to discrimination. Only this Division would be standing up for rights of people whose religious beliefs can be used as a weapons to discriminate against women (deny birth control or abortions) and people from the LGBTQ community (deny public services).
We need your help to get informed and fight back. Please attend our forum on “Conscience and Religious Freedom” on Thursday, March 15th from 7 – 9 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 for refreshments) at the National Council of Jewish Women – MI office located at 26400 Lahser Rd, #306, Southfield.
