2018 FORUM: Standing at The Intersection

March 5 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan will have a table at FORUM: Standing at The Intersection presented by Partners for A Racism Free Community. If you are interested in volunteering at the PPAM table please email the West Michigan Community Organizer, Tessa Gawylowicz, at tessa.gawrylowicz@ppmi.org for more information.

FORUM is an annual conference centered on addressing issues of racial equity through connecting professionals across sectors to topical experts. This year’s conference, Standing at the Intersection, will focus on intersectionality, and how racial bias often intersects with other aspects of an individual’s identity that can be marginalized such as ability, gender, religion, and so forth. Here’s what you can expect from the 2018 FORUM:

  • 10 session offerings targeting heath professionals, government officials, nonprofit professionals, educators, organizers, religious leaders and artists
  • Luncheon with keynote speaker Charlene Carruthers, with meet and greet tickets available
  • An opportunity to engage in crucial dialogues with passionate leaders across all professions, abilities, identities and cultures
  • Post-conference reception with entertainment provided by poet Kyd Kane and comedian TMurph.
  • Networking opportunities
  • Open and accessible conference space
