Eight Michigan mayors get it. They understand that defunding Planned Parenthood would have a devastating effect, preventing people with Medicaid coverage from accessing basic health care including birth control and cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood health centers in their communities.
And it could only get worse – did you know that 28 of the state’s 83 counties don’t even have an OB-GYN¹ – while every single county has a veterinarian.² And even in the counties that do have OB-GYNs, 30 of them still report shortages?³
Women and men in Michigan cannot afford to lose Planned Parenthood. PPAM is looking for other local, county and state elected officials who understand Planned Parenthood’s role in Michigan’s health care safety net. We want those elected officials to #StandWithPP and declare their support for Planned Parenthood by signing on to this letter.
Please share THIS website with your city council members, county commissioners, township supervisors and other elected officials who have a deep understanding of how communities across Michigan rely on Planned Parenthood and ask them to add their name.
